Smoke exposure linked to behavior problems

Hmmmm......this is talking about children of women who smoked, but I'd really curious to see some studies on children of non-smoking mothers who were still exposed to second-hand smoke on a constant basis. 18 months was about when Leanna started getting wacky too.

when I was pregnant with Bill and Tom, I couldn't smoke in the beginning. But when I felt the baby move, which was about my fifth month, that's when I picked up smoking again, until I delivered. So, I don't agree on this study at all, because both boys were subjected to my smoking while in the womb. Only one of my boys were hyper, than the other and that was, Tom. But he out grew it as he grew older and the pediatrician told me he would, just to be patient. The doctor didn't believe in putting him on meds to calm him down, just change his eating habits. He also suggested to learn how to get Tom to relax before bedtime and watch his sugar intake through the day.

Kids have been around cigarette, cigar, and pipe smoke since we grew tobacco in this country. Which is when? So, why haven't they said anything before this? Another thing, why are they still allowing to grow tobacco, if they believe all this. You would think the government would care enough about all these studies to stop growing things that they think would harm the people of this country.

Wouldn't you!

Everything I think in moderation is OK, but when we tend to over do it, that's when there will be problems. Like to much caffine, in coffee, soda, chocolate. Plus, other foods that aren't good for us, but we eat them anyway.

So, who is right or wrong here???

two things...1. cigarette are not made like they were in the past...they add all sorts of poisons to them, that is why they are bad NOW, not to mention it takes a LONG time for these studies to be done and published so it take a while to REALIZE things a harmful...like new meds that are out 2. the cigarette companies are too rich and powerful for the govnmnt to get involved (like oil companies,) that is why they don't ban cigs...check out this website...http://www.bigtobaccosucks.org/home/center.html

I wasn't talking so much about the hyper-ness as I was about behavioral problems. And you also have to keep in mind that different things affect different people's bodies, well, differently. Two siblings exposed to the same chemical may have different reactions. Or no reaction at all. When people started growing tobacco, they weren't doing studies. I don't think it would even have occurred to anyone that it was bad for adults or children. The gov.'t will allow them to grow/distribute products that are harmful because money, and lots of it, is involved. Sad but true.
