Hypospadius and chemicals

Interesting, I have google alerts, and one of them is for "hypospadius" which is the name of the condition in which the opening of the penis (the meatus) is located some place other than the tip. Both Justin and Jacob have this. This is the first mainstream article I've seen that actually lists exposure to chemicals as a probable cause. Almost everything I found on the subject would say it isn't your fault, it just happens. I'd rather they admitt that something you ate or were exposed to caused this and have others be able to avoid it (or myself in a future pregnancy)!Sometimes they go rediculously out of their way to avoid inducing even the tiniest bit of guilt.

"Hypospadius occurs in about 1 in 250 boys, though it seems to be becoming more common. Those exposed to estrogens or to endocrine disrupting chemicals such as PCBs are at higher risk......Often hypospadius cannot be prevented. Avoiding exposure to estrogens and to endocrine disruptors such as dioxin, PCBs, DDT, and some other pesticides can prevent some cases. Many chemicals, particularly pesticides and plasticizers, are suspected endocrine disruptors based on limited animal studies."
