Hmmmmm

The Chineese lunar calendar says this baby will be a girl.

I have an ultrasound tomorrow, I haven't decided if I will find out the sex or not.
I still don't find the idea that one should find out the sex so that people can buy gifts a compelling enough reason.

When I was pregnant with Adam in '91, Kiddie City was going out of business (similar to ToysRUs if you never heard of it...); as a result their diapers were dirt cheap. Back then the diapers were gender specific; you had to buy boy diapers for the boys and girl diapers for the girls. Kurt and I were certain we were having another girl, so I bought the store out of girl diapers figuring we had a 50/50 chance of being right. The day before I delivered, they did an ultrasound because they feared the baby was close to 10 lbs. Up until then we didn't know, but decided to have them tell us with that ultrasound so I could return the diapers if necessary! Back to Kiddie City I went with all my girl diapers and exchanged them for the boy ones!! So in that situation, it was kind of convenient to know up front!

Oh yes, I remember Kiddie City! I didn't know diapers were gender specific though, that's interesting. My baby sister was born in 88 and I don't remember that. But then again I wasn't the one buying the diapers back then! So how big was he? My baby sister was exactly 10 pounds at birth but ultrasounds weren't normal yet then.....so we were surprised.

They told me from the u/s that he would be close to 9 lbs 1 oz...would you believe he weighed 9 lbs 1 and a half oz?!?!?!?

They were almost right on with that one!! I had the u/s on 9/29 and he was born on 9/30.
