Well, ok, I think this was her actual favorite present, not Diego. I got her the first two Twilight books. I've heard good reviews from numerous people and even found a review that said it actually isn't bad at all from a parent's perspective, apparently it even ephasized love and waiting for marriage. Maree' was begging for them! She started reading after she finished opening her gifts. : )

Yes it's supposed to be about waiting for marriage and all that, but the unfortunate reality is that it's a book about a girl with absolutely no character depth who is so obsessed with some guy who also lacks character depth, but is VERY PRETTY, that she decides to give up her life to spend it with him in absolute subservience. It's written by a woman, with a girl as the main character, and yet that's the focus of the story. Talk about setting back women a few decades or so...
Aside from that, the writing is trashy and unimaginative and the main character is an obvious hollow placeholder for the female reader to put herself into. Mary likes the stories and she herself admits that she's embarassed to like them because they're so unoriginal and poorly written. Please please please get leanna some madeleine l'engle or susan cooper or really ANYONE but stephanie meyers...
Well right now she's into Beverly Cleary, Mary Pope Osbourne, and the American Girl books. So hopefully we're a ways a way from her even wanting to read them!
Oops, I re-read and didn't realize it was Meree who got the books. Although what I said still stands...
