For my MIL, or any other Elvis fans
A blogger's grandmother was friends with Elvis and presents a different picture of him than I've heard (polite and respectful) and it has links to a few old interviews her grandmother did with him.

The owner of, Richard's Drive-In, in Palmer Township served in the Army with Elvis Presley. He has a picture on his counter of Elvis and him from that time. I remember him telling me, when I was a young girl, how much he liked Elvis and how polite and mannerly he was. He also, told me that Elvis' manager didn't want him to be drafted into the service, but Elvis said, I am an American, too, and it is my obligation to serve just like any other American man. I don't want special privileges just because I'm an actor and singer. You surely want ever see another actor or singer in the service, after him.
I never believed half the stories that were written about Elvis, being any other way than how he truly was, and that was being polite, loving & honest.
When I was young and till his death, Elvis was top notch in my book and nobody is ever going to change my mind. And nobody has ever come close to my heart as Elvis Presley has. Yes, there are great singers and actors out there, but Elvis had charisma and I hadn't seen it it anyone else ever since.
When Elvis died I cried for weeks and I never ever cried for a famous person before him or after him. Elvis is truly the man and the King of entertainment, not Michael Jackson or anyone else in our time.
Someday, I like to get a collection of all his movies. I have a collection of most of his recordings. The 25th year collection is just too expensive for me at the moment, but maybe someday I'll have it.
RIP, Elvis....1/8/35-8/16/77
