I'd nominate BerkeleyBreathed's Goodnight Opus, a book my sister Laura introduced us to. Any parent who has ever read Goodnight Moon a few too many times will appreciate the humor. And I absolutely love the message about learning to "depart the text."

I can think of plenty that are strictly written for kids, but adults also love. But that's a separate category.
